What We Do
The Briar Hill School Foundation and School Council are independent groups, but we share the same goal: supporting our students and building a strong school community. Both are made up of parents, guardians and community members, and there are lots of ways to get involved.

The Foundation
The Briar Hill School Foundation is our fundraising organization, raising money to support students and enhance the educational experience at Briar Hill School.
Fundraising includes our online shop, fun lunches, events, raffles and other licensed initiatives, such as our casino.
The Foundation is a volunteer-led organization governed by a Board of Directors. We work closely with School Council and school administration to identify ways fundraising can benefit our students.
The Foundation is incorporated under the Alberta's Societies Act and operates independently while working collaboratively with the school community.
The Council
Every parent or guardian of a Briar Hill student is automatically a member of School Council.
School Council is a parent-led organization that works with school administration to support parent engagement and strengthen our school community. Council provides a way for families to share ideas and have a voice in our school community.
We work with school administration to support parent engagement, coordinate volunteers, share information and help bring families together through school initiatives and events.
Where Your Support Goes
Educational Programs & Learning Resources
From classroom supplies and books to technology and other resources that support learning in the classroom.
Student Enrichment Opportunities
Helping bring additional learning experiences to students, including in-class residencies, special programs and field trips.
School Initiatives & Special Projects
Supporting projects big and small, from our new playground, completed in 2024, to school enhancements, furniture for functional learning, sports equipment and other resources for students.
Making participation possible for everyone
We make sure every student can take part in opportunities like field trips, fun lunches and school activities.
Everyone in our school community is welcome at our monthly meetings. It’s a chance to ask questions, share ideas, stay informed and have a voice and a vote in how we use funds raised to support our students and make Briar Hill even better.
