The Briar Hill School Foundation is comprised of parent and community members and is responsible for all fundraising activities, including initiatives that involve Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission licences, such as casinos and raffles. The Foundation is incorporated under Alberta’s Societies Act and operates as an independent organization while working collaboratively with School Council and school administration to support Briar Hill School.
The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors made up of parent and community volunteers, elected every two years.
The Foundation exists to enhance educational opportunities and support student learning at Briar Hill School through fundraising and community support. Funds raised by the Foundation help support educational programs, learning resources, student enrichment opportunities, and initiatives that reduce financial barriers to participation where appropriate.
The Foundation’s goals are aligned with those of School Council: to support the mission, vision, and overall goals of the school community.
Every parent or guardian of a Briar Hill School student is automatically a member of School Council and is encouraged to participate in meetings, discussions, and school initiatives. School Council works collaboratively with school administration to support parent engagement, provide parent input, and strengthen the school community through initiatives such as volunteer coordination, and parent information opportunities.
School Council helps foster communication and collaboration between families, staff, and administration in support of student success and school community well-being.
We are always looking for new members and volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved or would like to learn more, please contact us by email.
